Brookville 42, Clarion 24

BROOKVILLE - Clarion, which had its opener postponed 10 days ago, picked the wrong time to meet the Brookville Blue Raiders. Picking up six pins and winning eight of the 13 bouts, Brookville rolled to a 42-24 win over the Bobcats. Brookville, 2-0 in duals and fresh off competing in the Ironman Tournament, bolted to an 18-0 with three pins.

"We wrestled like it was our first competition and they wrestled like they had just come off a grinder of a tournament," Clarion coach Randy Cathcart said. "They're a seasoned team and we're not ... out conditioning was very poor."

Clarion received bonus points from Marty Fisher and Kyle Cathcart with pins, Bryan Kiskadden with a technical fall and Brian Luton with a major decision. Matt Watterson had a decision. Cathcart, a two-time state champion, won his 73rd-straight bout.

Clarion (0-1) will return to action Friday, Dec. 21 at Cochranton.
