GIBSONIA - It was a long day for both Rocky Grove and the A-C Valley, Keystone and Union wrestling teams at the Pine-Richland Tournament.

Rocky Grove managed just one medalist in the 12-team event while the Panthers of coach Libby Hansford had three.

"It just was one of those days," Rocky Grove coach Brian Frank said.

Cody Harry, who placed fourth at 152 pounds, was the lone Oriole to earn a medal.

"(Cody's) really improving as the season goes on," Frank said. "I'm pleased to see him do well."

Levi Mohney claimed the 160-pound title for ACVKU with an 18-3 technical fall over Mike Early of Steel Valley.

Picking up a second for the Panthers was Mitch Carnathan at 171 and teammate Ty Williams was third at 145.

Williams struck for a takedown with :30 left in his bout with Pine-Richland's Nick Rivero for the winning points in a 4-3 decision.

"(Ty) came back strong after his loss in the winners' bracket," Hansford said. "Both Levi and Mitch needed this tournament to get ready for the District 9 Classic on Saturday."

Carnathan, who lost 8-0 to Julius Reid of Highlands, is expected to drop to 152 later in the season.

Rocky Grove will return to action Thursday when it hosts Lakeview. ACVKU will host Kane today.
