Little Lions win in a romp

DUBOIS -- The final score was lopsided, but State College coach Ron Pifer said Tuesday night's visit to DuBois was closer than the 59-9 final tally in the Little Lions' favor.

State College trailed in five matches, but lost just two to improve to 2-0 on the season. "It was a tougher match than the score indicated," Pifer said. "I think you need to be ready for any opponent. Our lightweights again came through and took the pressure off the upperweights."

Among the key victories for the Little Lions were pins by Matt Homan in the 135-pound classification and Devon Warner at 145. "Matt Homan and Devon Warner came back and got two hard-fought wins," Pifer said.

Jeremy Hart also came through with a 12-0 decision at 160 over Dom Morelli.
