Bulldogs win opener 

CURWENSVILLE - Redbank Valley invaded Patton Hall and walked away with a 52-15 win over Curwensville in the opening match of the season.

"The kids wrestled well," Redbank coach Mike Kundick said. "We showed we were in condition and the strength paid off."

Frank Magagnotti, Seth Hammond, Greg Nolf, Dustin Huffman, Ron Geist and Charles Boozer registered pins for the Bulldogs, who also received bonus points from Andrew Kespelher (major decision) and Keith Pavlekovsky (forfeit).

Kundick was particularly pleased with Boozer, who flattened Cory Bailor in just :29 at heavyweight. "Last year, Bailor pinned Boozer in 1:11, so that was a great win."

Rounding out the Bulldog winners with decisions were Joe Garrison and Tanner Huffman.

Garrison scored nine points in the third period to rally for an 11-7 victory over returning regional qualifier Steve Curry.

Redbank Valley will return to action Monday when it hosts Johnsonburg.
