SMETHPORT - Despite a lineup that includes eight freshmen and sophomores, Smethport (1-0) won its league opener. Chad Wilcox (103 pounds), Matt Leet (171) and Shawn Dunkle (189) all won with pins to key the Hubbers while Dave Thomas and Mike Mitchell scored back-to-back decisions at 145 and 152. "You could tell this was our first match of the year," said Smethport coach Terry Schwab. "We didn't look all that sharp." Kane fell to 0-2.
