COVERAGE OF HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING AIRING STATEWIDE ON PENNSYLVANIA CABLE NETWORK
PCN is treating Keystone State sports fans to eight weeks of high
school wrestling matches with state- and nationally-ranked squads, in
addition to producing live coverage of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic
Athletic Association team and individual state wrestling championships.
Regularly televised on Saturdays at 9:00 p.m, the "PCN Match of the
Week" season bows on January 5 with a special Friday night showing of
the Powerade Christmas Wrestling Tournament in Washington,
Pennsylvania. Two weeks later, the statewide service features Easton
Area at Northampton Area-Pennsylvania's two highest-ranked wrestling
programs-followed by national #1 Blair Academy (New Jersey) against
national #2 Easton Area at Lehigh University. Other "PCN Match of the
Week" action spotlights grapplers from Franklin, Cranberry, Northern
Lehigh, Wilson, Milton, and Warrior Run high schools. The network
will also air the District 7 AA championships live on February 24,
along with running the District 11 AAA finals on March 3.
PCN is available in 2.7 million homes in the commonwealth,
representing nine million of the state's twelve million residents.
The nonprofit network is funded by participating cable companies
which voluntarily carry the service on their channel lineup.
