Clarion is looking for two varsity wrestling teams to fill a sixteen-man bracket for the Clarion Mid-Season Classic Wrestling Tournament on January 18, 2003. The Upper Dauphin Area Wrestling team is hosting the Upper Dauphin Area Duals. It will be an 8 team Dual Meet Tournament, set up into 2 pods of 4. You would wrestle each team in your pod 1 time (3 matches). The top teams in each pod would wrestle for 1st, the 2nd place teams would wrestle for 3rd, etc.
Tournament date is December 14, 2002

Currently we have commitments from the following schools:
Methacton            District I AAA
Lampeter-Strausburg   District III AAA
Upper Dauphin Area   District III AA

We would like to try and pull a rep from each league in D3 if possible. If you are interested or know of anyone who would be interested please forward this information to them.

Port Allegany has a Junior-High wrestling tournament on Sat., Jan. 26th, 2002. Right now they have 5 teams committed and would like to add another 3. Contact Coach Triplett by Email or use the snail-mail contact on the Port page or contact info below.

Date: Saturday, January 26th, 2002
Where: Port Allegany High School
Entry Fee: $100.00 Per Team
Weigh-Ins: Will be at Port Allegany High School on Saturday, Jan. 26th from 8:00 to 9:30 am. Coaches meeting will follow immediately after weigh-ins.
Start Time: Wrestling will begin at 10:30 am. There will be a short break before the medal round.
Mats: We will be using three mats.
Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded per bracket. There will be no team score kept.
Food: The Port Allegany Boosters will be serving food in the lobby of the gym throughout the event.

     Cambria Heights is at Twelve teams at this point!

* Redbank Valley has set up a Junior High Tourney for Feb 10. Seven teams are coming at this point, more are welcome. Entry fee $100. Computer-scored.

*Kane Duals - we are starting a Dual Tourney next year in Kane. The tourney will be run on the first Saturday in February every Year. This gives enough time before districts and also allows teams some time between Mid-Season Classic. We are hoping to start with 8 teams and build from there. It will be a dual team tourney format, with double elimination. I wrestled in Lancaster NY and have some contacts and would really like to get some of the stronger western NY team and this should interest the Pa schools. Lancaster is currently ranked #1 in NY. I am going to invite Pioneer andSpringville and a few more and this should make things interesting Sort of like a Big 30 wrestling Tourney.

*Attached is the registration form for the 2001 Coudersport Junior Wrestling Club tournament to be held on 17 February. Note that this will be a qualifying tournament for the 2001 Ohio Tournament of Champions to be held in April in Columbus Ohio. We are acting as the qualifier this year as Port Allegany will not be hosting an open tournament in 2001, Port will be the qualifier again starting with their 2002 tournament.
