Rocky Grove 58, ACVKU 16
KNOX - Rocky Grove won five of the seven bouts contested, picking up pins from Jason Gierlach, Cody Harry, Casey Baker and Kevin Mong on its way to a 58-16 victory over the A-C Valley, Keystone and Union team in non-conference action at Keystone High School.

"We needed this win," Oriole coach Brian Frank said. "We out-wrestled them match for match and that was a good sign. "All four who got pins wrestled real well and Ben Cochran dominated his bout," Frank continued. Cochran posted a 10-1 major decision.

It was the first win of the season for Mong, a first-year wrestler. "(Kevin) was real close two or three other times, so it was real exciting for us," Frank said.

Logging wins on the mat for ACVKU were Ty Williams with a major decision and Mitch Carnathan with a pin.

Rocky Grove (1-3) will be back on the mat Wednesday when it hosts Cranberry in Tri-County Athletic Conference Division II action.

ACVKU (0-2) will host Northern Cambria Tuesday.
